New coal-fired plant for Victoria one step closer

Showing the lie of Brumby's pre-election promise that Victoria would cut its greenhouse emmissions to %20 below 2000 levels by 2020, HRL has signed a deal with a Chinese company to construct a new $750 million brown coal powered plant. The plant which still needs approval from the EPA is being sold as "clean technology" as it is "only" as polluting as black coal!!! It also puts Brumby's promise to shut a quarter of Hazelwood by 2014 in a new light too - it will just be replaced by a new brown coal plant.

The real Julia Gillard; the real agenda

Julia Gillard was educated at 'Mitcham Demonstration School' in Adelaide. Brad Boyd, Deputy Head at this school, claims that this is what made her what she is today. The history of education in Adelaide is interesting, with a very heavy Froebelian influence, and having been constructed in what we call the 'John Adam Street Gang' in London (also called the 'Adelphi Planners') who set up colonies in NZ and Canada, as well as Australia and elsewhere. To read more about the influence of the Froebel gifts and the 'architecture of the mind', I suggest people go to the 'lifeinthemixtalk' website:

By Diet Simon

Since a semi-governmental authority took control of retailing water in southeast Queensland on 1 July, thousands of people have been shocked by their latest water bills.

Like others across the state, Unitywater has been forced on us by the Anna Bligh Labor government which, polls show, would be pitched out if there were elections now.

Government figures project a fourfold increase in the price of water by 2017.

Tokyo Two trial verdict announced

A Japanese court today delivered its verdict in the trial of our two anti-whaling activists, Junichi Sato and Toru Suzuki. The 'Tokyo Two' activists have been handed an unjust sentence for uncovering widespread corruption in Japan's Southern Ocean whaling programme industry. Instead of the industry being investigated, the activists have been punished with a one-year jail term, suspended for three years.
