Fundraiser in Adelaide for Australia's First Nations Political Party candidate

Australia’s First Nations Political Party (AFNPP)
NT Senate candidate Rosalie Kunoth Monks

Rosalie Kunoth Monks was 16 (pictured) when she was selected to play the starring role of Jedda. She is by any definition, an extraordinary woman. Now she says she has had enough, which is why she is making this bid for the NT Senate on a platform of Treaties and the rolling back of the Intervention. These issues are relevant to all Australians.

Against the Election Spectacle

Free magazine charting two years of global resistance to politicians and their political process

Download zine at: https://againstelections.wordpress.com/

This zine has been compiled by some anarchists from the colonised region known as Australia. This small project was initiated to contribute to a discussion on how anti-authoritarians should intervene in or disrupt the 2013 Federal Election.

We have included statements and communiques from a range of anti-authoritarian positions taken from counter information sites, from the insurrectionary to the platformist.

There's one day left to enrol to vote!

Without GetUp members, 235,744 Australians could have missed their chance to vote.

Tomorrow night at 8pm, the electoral roll closes for this election -- but without GetUp members, it would have closed a week ago. It's support and donations that allow GetUp to take big risks, like going to the High Court to change the enrolment deadline in 2010.

Gabriel Kuhn reviews The Anarchist Revelation

Publications on anarchism have been thriving since the early 2000s. Yet, there is still a place for surprisingly unique releases. Paul Cudenec's The Anarchist Revelation, recently published by Winter Oak Press in England is one such example. The book attempts no less than equipping contemporary anarchism with a footing that is often neglected: the transformation not only of society's structures but also of people's souls.

Christine Milne will join Abbott-Rudd debate on twitter and facebook

Tomorrow night is the first of the federal election campaign debates.

Election debates are supposed to be a contest of ideas and leadership.

We won’t see much of that on television tomorrow night.

With the Greens shut out of the first election debate between Kevin Rudd and Tony Abbott, there will be no voice for strong action on global warming, no voice for a caring approach for refugees, no voice you can trust on the environment.

I know you agree – Australian Greens Leader Christine Milne should be part of the debate.

  • dozens of media hits, and more than 2 millionAustralians hearing about our enrolment campaign in the papers and on radio,
  • a winon anti-discrimination laws,
  • more time to save the Reeffrom dredging, and
  • great news on education reform - just weeks after GetUp members crowd-funded targeted radio ads.
