Annual Coranderrk Walk

Date and Time:
Sat, 01/03/2014 -
10:30am to 12:00pm
Location:
Coronation Park, River St. Healesville

The Annual Coranderrk Walk is about a 5km walk beginning at Coronation Park, and ending at Coranderrk, 19 Barak lane Healesville. It highlights the long history before the establishment of Coranderrk and the struggle our ancestors endured fighting to be recognised within their own traditional lands.

Before Coranderrk was established Barak, Wonga with John Green & other Kulin people walked from the Acheron down to the Watts River. It was a time of home as the Kulin people believed a 'permanent reserve' was set aside for them........
