JOINT MEDIA RELEASE WITH SAWC
September 9, 2012
The Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA) is considering rule changes that would see the abolition of all elected fulltime union officials. This is a radical idea and one that has hardly received any media coverage.
Can appointed staffers and a CEO really do a better job than people elected by the unions’ membership?
I have been investigating the wonders of Algae for at least 30 years.
The beauty of algae is that it can be grown in arid areas & so as a biofuel it will not consume land which can be used for producing food.
The health damages of the nuclear radiation in Fukushima are becoming ever clearer. Many people there complain of typical symptoms that appear as a result of irradiation.
Nose bleeding, extreme tiredness and pain in the bones are common. Ever more children are showing conspicuous changes in their thyroid gland.
The government denies any connection with the Fukushima nuclear disaster and most organized doctors play along with that.
That has left the victims to fend for themselves by trying to build their own health centre. They need financial help.

VENICE FILMFEST 2012: AN AMERICAN GRAFFITI
By Uli Schmetzer
Venice, September 8, 2012 – American films, largely absent in recent years, made a startling comeback to the 69th Venice Film Festival this month with a vivisection of an American society whose moral restraints have become as elastic as a worn rubber band, a malaise which, like American culture, has infected many parts of the world.

-- Have you seen the coal seam gas (CSG) industry's latest advertising campaign? The CSIRO's slammed it for misusing their research to claim CSG is safe for Australia's precious water and aquifers. Send the CSG spin doctors a message now demanding they publicly commit to ending their campaign of lies: http://www.getup.org.au/stop-csg-lies --
Australia’s largest community centre has given the green light to a private charity to hold Bingo nights at the centre, but now the plan is being questioned by critics and the Marrickville Council.
“Learning Links” a certified private charity commenced Bingo operations on Thursday, in the Great Hall of The Addison Road Centre (ARC) in Marrickville.
The Prime Minister announced on 6 September that she will no longer be speaking at the Australian Christian Lobby's upcoming conference. It was the only respectable course of action following the extraordinary comments made in recent days by ACL direction Jim Wallace [1].

AUSTRALIA. It has been a seemingly quiet week in Australian nuclear news. But then, in the Australian media, it's always a quiet nuclear week. I have got a bit of a shock, in studying the media as a theme for September, that in fact - the norm for Australia is just to not know anything about nuclear issues. That's how the nuclear lobby, government and mainstream media like it.
