Melbourne: Churches & Church Vehicles Sprayed, Public Walls Reclaimed

source : http://325.nostate.net/?p=6407

325 receives and transmits:

On Sunday the 31st of September under the cover of darkness we set off with hatred in our hearts & cans of spray-paint in our back-packs.

Once again we found ourselves in the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne – in particular the predominantly low-income neighborhood of Glenroy.

And once more we decided to direct our anger at the church; there always seem to be plenty of churches in the poorer suburbs & Glenroy is no exception.

Venezuela: Interview with Rafael Uzcátegui

* Rafael Uzcategui is a member of the group that publishes the anarchist newspaper El Libertario in Caracas (Venezuela). As antimilitarist, he is also a member of the War Resisters’ International and works in a Venezuelan human rights NGO called Provea. He is author of the books “Heart of Ink” and “Venezuela: Revolution as Spectacle” in which he reports the so-called Bolivarian process of Chavez and the true face of his “revolutionary” government. Taking advantage of his conference tour in Germany, we interviewed Rafael for the magazine Gai Dao.

Love & Rage

A very anarchist Melbourne May Day

May Day - an international day of workers protests and celebration - came to Melbourne today in a small but anarchic way. May Day in Australia is not what it once was but is still carried forward by elements of the trade union movement and the broad left including anarchists.

Ashfield Anarchist HQ Evicted

On Thursday the 15th of March a massive 4 story squat in Ashfield Sydney was evicted by private security forces. For 3 inspiring and eventful months the building had been home to over 20 homeless students, workers and anarchists. The space had become a centre of anarchist organising and counter information, where many demos and actions were planned and countless zines, leaflets and posters were printed for mass distribution.

Some Critical Notes on the Occupy Movement's Attempt at a General Strike in Oakland, California U.S.A..

My personal experience of the Nov. 2nd, 2011 attempted general strike in Oakland was a blast. The event was beautiful and exhilarating -- even the colors in the sky were perfect! More importantly, as the first attempt at a general strike in a U.S. city in sixty-six years, I hope Nov. 2nd in Oakland can stir a long-suffering wage-earning class in the United States to see the collective power we can have when we use a mass-scale workplace walkout as a political weapon against the owners of America.

Community controlled solar power

Jura Books is on the way to becoming solar-powered! Jura is a not-for-profit bookshop, community library and social space run by a democratic, volunteer, anarchist collective. The solar system Jura hopes to install will be a community-owned renewable energy resource in the heart of Sydney's inner west. It will be a model of community-controlled renewable energy.

INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY with the 14 anarchists kidnapped by the Chilean 'democracy'.

Last August, 14 anarchists were arrested accused of "terrorism" by the Chilean state, around the mediatic "Bombs case", 10 are still in the Maximun Security Prisons, under Pinochet's anti-terrorist law.
