15 Arpil was the 20th anniversary of the royal commission into black deaths in custody in 1991. Since that time there have been 397 black deaths in custody. Why?

The Human Rights Alliance: Deaths in Custody: Australia's horrific record - The Australian Senate lets us down. Motion is an insult.

The Australian Senate approved the Greens Motion to acknowledge the rising Aboriginal incarceration rates and deaths in custody in lieu of Friday 15, April which marks twenty years since the release of the 339 recommendations and Final Report of the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody.

Australia has one of the world’s worst deaths in custody records. As a researcher I have compared Australia 's deaths in custody record in terms of proportion to populations with other countries. Deaths in custody includes prison and police custody. We compare badly with even Apartheid South Africa .
