Rayney verdict to be appealed

They are at it again.

It seems the DPP is not satisfied having ran a case that was 'beset by improbabilities and uncertainties'; a case that saw millions of dollars of taxpayers money wasted on a rouse; a case that saw a man now found to be not guilty doggedly pursued for five long years; a case which exposed WA police as acting 'inappropriately' and 'reprehensibly'.

Massive worldwide starvation coming soon

On a yearly basis a human produces roughly 500 liters of urine and 50 liters of feces. These two products contain enough nutrients to grow most of the plants that this person needs as food. But instead of utilizing these 550 liters as a resource, we mix it with roughly 15,000 liters of water, and all goes down the drain. Before it reaches the sewage plant, if there is one, this slurry gets mixed with hundreds of pollutants along the way.

Lawyer claims discrepancy in PM's slush fund explanation

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-11-22/lawyer-claims-discrepancy-in-pm-sl...

A lawyer who worked with Prime Minister Julia Gillard in the 1990s says there is a two-and-a-half-year discrepancy in her explanation of when she knew about a loan for a house she lived in.

The property in question, on Kerr Street in Fitzroy, was allegedly paid for in part by funds taken from a union slush fund Ms Gillard helped set up.

Thursday, 22 November 2012 -- Supermarket giant Woolworths held an Extraordinary General Meeting this morning in Adelaide where a motion to force the company to place 1 dollar bet limits on its poker machines was defeated.

Anti-pokies campaigners continue to pressure the supermarket giant to commit to combat problem gambling.

GetUp, which launched the campaign which initially forced the EGM, staged a protest outside the Adelaide Convention Centre with Independent Senator Nick Xenophon in attendance.

Conflicting information, interests and land owners dog FMG

BIG THANKS to the National Indigenous Times and its very special journalist Gerry Georgatos in exposing the FMG hand in dividing the Yindjibarndi and then in keeping up the coverage - because of this mainstream media got the guts to run with a story not looking too pretty for Andrew Forrest and FMG!

Call for indigenous commissioners to head up abuse investigation

By Tim Roxburgh

A victim of sexual abuse has called for male and female Indigenous Australians to be among the commissioners appointed to head up the recently announced royal commission.

Tjanara Goreng Goreng is an Assistant Professor of Indigenous Studies at the University of Canberra.

As a child she was sexually abused at a convent in Rockhampton. She took her case through the courts and one priest was jailed for his crimes. But others haven’t been able to find justice.
