Truth does matter - Apology owed

Gillard and Rudd are products of the me-generation. They do not comprehend that politics is a calling.

Gorton was removed by his party. Whitlam was removed by the Governor-General and the CIA. Hayden was displaced by Hawke. Keating and Hawke tussled bitterly. There was bitterness however like Costello they predominately put the nation's interests first and stepped back.

Latham is another product of the me-generation.

Nyoongar Tent Embassy has been surrounded by police since 6:45am this morning - I have been called by those from Tent Embassy, who are now not contactable that they have been ordered to pull down tents, remove cars and go. It was an early morning appearance while there is no-one on staff at The West Australian, however the call out went to news media, with Channel Ten and The Australian having arrived.

Arctic emergency a global threat

Seven out of thirteen climate tipping points are in the Arctic, says Dr. Carlos Duarte from the University of Western Australia. He leads off this Radio Ecoshock special look into a double-headed emergency frightening Arctic experts.

There is a growing wave of unease, even panic. Our fossil fuel civilization may be accelerating straight off the cliff of mass extinction.

Will the rapid rise in Arctic temperatures, and the disappearance of summer sea ice, trigger a runaway climate change, and a mass extinction event?

‘Diplomatic’ Incidence at Aboriginal Tent Embassy, Canberra

An Indymedia photographer was allegedly assaulted at the Aboriginal Tent Embassy, Canberra and his equipment smashed in front of numerous witnesses. The incident happened on the night of 27 January 2012, that is, following Invasion Day.

The Perth based Indymedia photographer travelled at his own expenses to Canberra in order to document the 40th Anniversary of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy.

Kids in Leonora called by number, not name

RRAN activists have succeeded in gaining access to visits at the Leonora detention centre. After traveling the 800km from Perth, on Friday Serco and DIAC tried the usual lies to deny visit. "Nobody wants to be visited by you" etc. After much shouting and protesting, with unaccompanied minors and others in the centre joining in, Serco relented and there have been several visits this Saturday. The kids in detention even launched balloons with messages on them, some of which made it into the hands of RRAN activists.
