Barnett kills numbats

The Forest Products Commission are currently attempting to decimate the largest intact numbat colony in our state at Warrup forest. There are more pandas in the wild in China (1600) than numbats in Western Australia (under 1000), and the numbat is our state fauna emblem.
"It is disgusting in this day and age that the Barnett government have scant disregard for our state emblem, which is on the brink of extinction. How will we explain to future generations that we stood idly by while the FPC destroyed the last major colony of numbats." - Forest Rescue spokesperson Simon Peterffy.

Truth does matter - Apology owed

Gillard and Rudd are products of the me-generation. They do not comprehend that politics is a calling.

Gorton was removed by his party. Whitlam was removed by the Governor-General and the CIA. Hayden was displaced by Hawke. Keating and Hawke tussled bitterly. There was bitterness however like Costello they predominately put the nation's interests first and stepped back.

Latham is another product of the me-generation.

Michael Anderson backs Nyoongar Embassy in Perth

Goodooga, northwest NSW, 19 February 2012 - - The last surviving co-founder of the Aboriginal Embassy in Canberra has expressed his support for the Nyoongar Embassy encampment set up on Heirisson Island in Perth a few days ago and now under threat of eviction.

What happened to the 'Fremantle Revolution'? Is this another Percyite chimera?

In early February I received with my posted copy of the Socialist Alliance-sponsored newspaper 'Green Left Weekly' a leaflet inviting me to attend the launch of a new 'Activist Centre' in Fremantle. I took the time on Saturday, 4th February to commute by train from Perth, where I had been attending the WA Friends of Palestine Annual General Meeting, to the port city and the Activist Centre launch.

The atmosphere at the launch was quite convivial, the speeches were tolerable, and I enjoyed catching up with old political associates and having a few soft drinks.
