Where were you ten years ago when PM Howard sent an amphibious landing craft to invade a landlocked country in Asia, citing a Pacific rim traety as justification?
It seemed almost stupid back then, but ten years later, 50 000 people have died in a war with no justification.

Join us in remembering those killed in the war and calling for an end of Australia's involvement in this atrocity.

It is 10 years since Bush, Howard and co sent western troops to shoot and destroy a country that has done nothing to instigate war (except that bin laden may or may not have been living there)

Afghanistan still rages on as the war of our time, when the war started as with the Iraq war we saw huge protests across the world. Since then we've seen many different forms of protest but the war still goes on.

Join us in this meeting as we look to the 7th October and the actions we've got planned as well as looking at continued actions we can take against the war.

Phosphate is essential to the production of our food and is used extensively in Australian agriculture. The main source for most of our superphosphate fertiliser is phosphate rock from the Bou Craa mine in Western Sahara. The problem is that it is exported by Morocco, but it is not theirs to sell, since the Saharawi people have permanent sovereignty over their natural resources.

Campaign to save Ballerrt Mooroop College wins partial victory

The hard fought campaign to save Melbourne's only school for Indigenous students has won a partial victory. The Liberal Government Education Minister and the Save Ballerrt Mooroop College Committee have agreed on a compromise whereby the schools spirit tree and cultural area will be retained. However the school gym will be demolished. There are plans to build a new "Gathering Place" on the site however. This campaign has involved a small group of incredibly committed campaigners camping out in the school gym and picketing the site over the last few months. A fundraising concert on the 16th September became a celebration of the campaign's success and also raised $2000 which will go towards building the new Gathering Place.
