PHILIPPINES: Appeal for Flood Victims

In scenes reminiscent of the large scale destruction wrought by Typhoon Ondoy (international name Ketsana) in late 2009 in which 400 died, torrential rains brought widespread flooding in the capital Metro Manila and nearby provinces. Almost a million people are affected and some 250,000 forced to evacuate, majority of whom are workers and poor, with 15 deaths already reported.

STOP Imperialist War against Syria

We, the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS), condermn in the strongest terms the duplicitous scheme of the US and NATO in instigating, funding and arming the so-called Syrian National Council and Free Syrian Army to seek the violent overthrow of the Assad government in Syria and at the same time pushing a “peace plan” and then a “transitional government” under the auspices of the UN in order to politically outmanuever the Assad government and the anti-imperialist and democratic forces.

No evidence to support Chen Guangcheng’s “beating” claims

From the outset, Chen seems to be just another Chinese dissident brutally treated by the authorities, however, there are more to that.

In the opening statement at the Council on Foreign Relation (31 May, 2012), Professor Cohen of the New York University made it clear that Chen “had never studied law” when “the State Department” asked him to meet Chen nine years ago (that is in 2003).

Ethic of Western journalism: The evolution of Chen Guangcheng’s “escape” stories

- 16 escape stories with only one that makes sense

The blind Chinese dissident, Chen Guangcheng has finally “escaped” the “brutal” treatment of the Chinese “regime” and landed in the “free” world. The world in particularly the American media called this a human rights win for America.
