Howard knew Aborigines had a sovereignty based land right

Tamworth, 23 December 12 - - A prominent Aboriginal sovereignty campaigner argues that former prime minister, John Howard, amended the Native Title Act in 1998 because he was fully aware of the inherent power of Aboriginal peoples based on their continuing sovereignty.

“With the passage of time it is now painfully obvious that former Prime Minister, John Howard, fully realised that Aboriginal peoples maintain a very powerful position in Australia,” Michael Anderson writes in a media release.

Letter from Manus

To the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

We are protesting today because of children and women who are suffering here.

Because they think they are dying here day by day
We are always asking about who is responsible who is in charge.

Our situation is insane.

Our children go to school that has no air conditioning in it.

They bring all the women and children to here and they don’t treat them very well and because of the hot weather and they are battling in the hot situation and the children are losing their appetite.

For myself 2012 has been an interesting year, one of myriad bright good outcomes however always mixed with lingering frustrations and disappointments. This is life as we know it.
