Queensland Police Commissioner must disclose all police brutality allegations promptly

Queensland Police Commissioner Bob Atkinson recently held a press conference confirming a police investigation into the bashing of a handcuffed Gold Coast man had been launched. Mr Atkinson was critical of the leaking of CCTV footage of the attack to the media. He claimed the QPS takes all complaints of police brutality very seriously and the complaint would have been thoroughly investigated even without media pressure.

Geography:

Let the people elect judges

Retired Brisbane Supreme Court Judge Geoff Davies QC is correct; (Courier Mail September 1, 2006) government stacking the courts with political favourites is the main evil in the administration of justice in Australia. But I disagree with his proposal to create a seven-man panel including the Queensland Law Society, church leaders and newspaper editors to oversee the appointment of judges.

Australian Press Council fails judicial corruption and school bullying victim

The decision by the Australian Press Council to dismiss my complaint (Adjudication No. 1469) http://www.presscouncil.org.au/pcsite/adj/1469.html about suppression of pertinent fact and misrepresentation is unfair and inaccurate.

In my letter to the Courier Mail on 23 Mar 2010 I complained the article, which mentioned me on 17 March (online) and in print on 18 March was inaccurate, unfair, misrepresents me and suppresses pertinent fact. The APC adjudicated my complaint on 8 July and it was published on 30 July 2010 after the Courier Mail stone walled for months.
