5 May 14: "In another dramatic follow-up to the Euahlayi 'rates dispute', this time in the Queensland Supreme Court between the Balonne Shire Council and the Euahlayi Peoples of far north-western New South Wales and southwest Queensland, the Queensland Minister for Natural Resources and Mines (with responsibility for Lands) presented in writing an admission that there are no cession documents, nor surrender documents as a result of war, relating to the Euahlayi Peoples, neither are there any documents to show that the Euahlayi Peoples' Allodial Title to land was transferred to the Crown's Land tenure system.
Alarmingly, Balonne Shire Council's defence lawyer asserted that the international law of the Charter of the United Nations does not apply to Australia. ... "

All of a sudden the conservative Coalition Government is welcoming discussion about something we have demanded for decades, something former Prime Minister Bob Hawke promised to deliver by 1990, and a proposal that the current federal Labor opposition has labelled "stupid". ... It is a story that faded from hsitory for almost a century, and has now been retold in a new book The Black War: Fear Sex and Resistance in Tasmania.

Aboriginal Rights Activist Amelia Kunoth-Monks from Utopia spoke at the forum about the devastating effects of the NT Intervention in her Community and the dehumanising experience of being forced onto the basic card as part of the income management which began with the intervention and has since expanded across the Country. 1 May 14: "A petition to the WA Parliament is calling for a new Aboriginal stolen wages scheme, claiming the previous reparation was humiliating and inadequate. In 2012 the WA State Government announced the stolen wages reparation scheme which invited people born before 1958 to apply for payments of up to $2,000 if they had directly experienced government control over their income. Kimberley Community Legal Service solicitor Judy Harrison, says that Aboriginal people her organisation has spoken to are not happy with the 2012 reparation scheme."
