* 'CONCERNED AUSTRALIANS': BOOK REVIEWS

- Book Review

Review of the book 'This Is What We Said' (2010)
Stop the Intervention: http://stoptheintervention.org/uploads/files_to_download/Book-This-Is-Wh...
"Using pictures and quotations taken from footage of actual NTER consultations at Bagot, Ampilatwatja, Utopia and Yirrkala between June and August 2009, this book provides an account of the depth of frustration and despair of many Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory regarding the Intervention. It is mainly a book of quotes from Aboriginal people giving their own views on the
Intervention. Giving voice to Aboriginal people from the Northern Territory is fairly uncommon. This is a wonderful opportunity to receive authentic information about what Aboriginal people really think about the Intervention. It is highly important that these views are heard for they differ vastly from what is often portrayed in the media."

- Book Review

Review of the book 'Walk With Us' (2011)
Aboriginal Elders Call Out to Australian People to Walk with them in their Quest for Justice
Stop the Intervention: http://stoptheintervention.org/uploads/files_to_download/concerned-Austr...
"Walk With Us provides one of the very rare opportunities to hear genuine voices of Aboriginal Elders. It presents the ongoing impact of the NT Intervention on the lives of Aboriginal people in their own words. This beautifully illustrated and important book supplies an update of the current status of the NT Intervention. It explores recent happenings in the Northern Territory, including unsatisfactory changes to the legislation leading to the flawed reinstatement of the Racial Discrimination Act on 31 December 2010 and exposes the continued discrimination."

- Book Review

Review of the book 'NT Consultations Report 2011: By Quotations' (2011)
Respect and Listen: http://www.respectandlisten.org/uploads/downloads/ca/NTCR-Book-review.pdf
"Beautifully illustrated, this hard-backed book gives voice to the views of Aboriginal people living under the Intervention. In this book we hear the true voices of Aboriginal people calling out to be heard. Each page speaks volumes about their frustration and despair at the failure of Government to listen."
