Calling all young Victorians with a vision for a sustainable future
Are you under 25 and want to win some great cash and prizes? The Future Shots Sustainability Film Challenge is now open. For the second year running, Future Shots invites all Victorians 25 and under to create a short film of under three minutes addressing the theme of sustainability.
With over $9000 in cash and prizes to be won, Future Shots encourages young Victorians to creatively explore sustainability in their world.
Entry deadline is 15 November 2010.
Entries are invited from individuals, teams, schools and tertiary institutions throughout Victoria.
Cash and other prizes valued at over $9000 will be awarded to the best short films in 10 award categories, judged by a panel of industry experts.
The Future Shots Awards Night will be held on December 15 at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Federation Square.
All genres (drama, documentary, animation, music video, advertisement) are accepted as long as the theme of sustainability is addressed. There are also prizes for the best films addressing themes of water-smart cities, waste-free Victoria and smart energy use. The major award categories are:
$2000 Sustainability Victoria Award for Best Film
$1500 for Melbourne Water’s Water-Smart Cities Award
$1500 for the Waste-Free Victoria Award sponsored by the Metropolitan Waste Management Group and Visy
$2200 worth of prizes for the Smart Energy Film Award sponsored by Planet Savers
$1000 worth of prizes for CERES Environment Park's Best Film by a School Award
Plus more prizes for the best films in the under 12, 13-17 and 18-25 age categories
