S11 / Melb Indymedia 10 year anniversary

S11, the protest against the WEF at the Crown Casino happened just over 10 years ago.

The website has been down for a few years, but it has just been archived at http://s11.media2.org

Melbourne Indymedia was launched a month or two before the protest, so this site has an anniversary to celebrate too.

Congrats everyone.

SAM web community media dormant at least 12 months

Oz IMC here is looking good. Important story from Ray Jackson near the top too.

For the last 2 months the Sydney Alternative Media website has been dormant. The lead story remains one on the ructions in the TWS national green group.

The reason is that the editor, owner, this writer has return to legal practice so there are time constraints.

Wai June issue out now!

Wai is an independent quarterly newspaper focused on human rights, environmental and social justice. The third issue, the June issue, is out and on the streets around the country.

From illegal forest operations in Indonesia and PNG to irrigating the Midlands of Tasmania; from artists run intiatives in old shop fronts in Newcastle to community weekends in Melbourne; from reflections on those fighting against the expansion of the uranium industry in SA and NT to the latest paternalistic Indigenous policy in the NT are some of the articles that can be read in the June Issue of WAI.
