A public forum by Iran Solidarity Melbourne.Featuring, Mehdi Aslani the author of Kalagh va Gole Sokh (The Crow and the Rose), an internationally known Iranian author, activist and survivor of Iran's massacres of political prisoners in the notorious Evin Prison in 1988. More people were killed in the Iranian massacres of political prisoners in 1988, than in the Srebrenica genocide. Despite this human rights activists, the world over have largely ignored this despicable crime against humanity and many people remain ignorant of this dark chapter in Iranian history.

The dirty politics around climate change

Professor Clive Hamilton is a well known Australian author and public intellectual who ran as the Greens candidate in the by-election for the federal seat of Higgins in December 2009. In June 2009 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his service to public debate and policy development. He is author of 'Scorcher: The dirty politics of climate change' (2007) and his latest book is 'Requiem for a Species: Why we resist the truth about climate change' (2010).
