Come oppose major US -Australian Wargames occurring across Australia this July. People are converging on Rockhampton, the main town closest to the Shoalwater Bay Military Training Area. As well as being the centre stage for these wargames Shoalwater Bay is a wildlife haven and reserve for many endangered species and ecosystems.

Peace Convergence Main Weekend is July 11-12. Live Firing Exercises start on the 13th of July. Independent Actions needed and welcomed! Let's interrupt, make a dint in the war machine and promote peaceful and creative alternatives!

Oil spill causes environmental disaster on Queensland beaches

On Tuesday March 10 the container ship, The Pacific Adventurer, lost overboard thirty-one containers holding the volatile explosive ammonium nitrate, spilling three tonnes of the chemical on deck, with the hull and two fuel tanks being punctured in the heavy seas. The ship had run straight into 9 metre swells churned up by Category 5 Cyclone Hamish off the coast of Queensland.
