* MELBOURNE'S ONLY ABORIGINAL SCHOOL WINS FIGHT AGAINST CLOSURE:

Save Ballerrt Mooroop College:
Koori school wins fight against closure
http://ballerrtmooroop.org/?q=content/koori-school-wins-fight-against-cl...
17 Sep 11: "These days, there aren’t many victories against attacks on working-class people by neoliberal governments and greedy, ruthless corporations. This makes the victory in the campaign to save Melbourne’s only Aboriginal school, the Ballerrt Mooroop College in Melbourne’s northern suburb of Glenroy, especially important. Late on September 12, the state education minister Martin Dixon sent an email to campaigners saying that he had agreed to the compromise plan that had been negotiated between the Ballerrt Mooroop College and the Glenroy Specialist School for disabled children (GSS)."

Indymedia Australia: Campaign to save Ballerrt Mooroop College wins partial victory
http://indymedia.org.au/2011/09/19/campaign-to-save-ballerrt-mooroop-col...
19 Sep 11: "The hard fought campaign to save Melbourne's only school for Indigenous students has won a partial victory. The Liberal Government Education Minister and the Save Ballerrt Mooroop College Committee have agreed on a compromise whereby the schools spirit tree and cultural area will be retained. However the school gym will be demolished. There are plans to build a new "Gathering Place" on the site however. This campaign has involved a small group of incredibly committed campaigners camping out in the school gym and picketing the site over the last few months."

Treaty Republic: People power and negotiation: BMC's modest win
http://treatyrepublic.net/content/people-power-and-negotiation-bmcs-mode...
"The Victorian Minister of Education, Martin Dixon, has agreed to a recently negotiated compromised plan that keeps the spirit tree and cultural area. The 'Gathering Place' (Gym) will be demolished but 2/3rds of its land will remain on the BMC side of the fence thus allowing a new community hub to be built there or somewhere else on the site ... The Ballerrt Mooroop College Committee (BMCC) were desperate to save the Gymnasium/Gathering Place and many protestors, including BMC Committee members camped overnight in the building throughout the past few months to protect it from demolition."

Green Left: Jeff McMullen: Don’t buy the NT intervention lie
http://www.greenleft.org.au/node/48856
17 Sep 11: "Jeff McMullen, a prominent journalist and Aboriginal rights advocate, gave the address below at the Sydney launch of Walk With Us: Aboriginal Elders Call Out to Australian People to Walk with them in their Quest for Justice at Gleebooks, Sydney, on September 1. * * * ... The welcome to country from Aunty Millie [Ingram] and the elders’ statement goes to the heart of the issue: that we walk in an Aboriginal land. And the fight for Aboriginal lands, and the future of the homelands, is the great moral challenge facing all of us and facing this country."

Review of the book Walk With Us
Aboriginal Elders Call Out to Australian People to Walk with them in their Quest for Justice
http://stoptheintervention.org/uploads/files_to_download/concerned-Austr...
"Walk With Us provides one of the very rare opportunities to hear genuine voices of Aboriginal Elders. It presents the ongoing impact of the NT Intervention on the lives of Aboriginal people in their own words. This beautifully illustrated and important book supplies an update of the current status of the NT Intervention. It explores recent happenings in the Northern Territory, including unsatisfactory changes to the legislation leading to the flawed reinstatement of the Racial Discrimination Act on 31 December 2010 and exposes the continued discrimination."

We won’t use it capriciously or wantonly or indiscriminately, and I make that solemn promise on your behalf to all of the Australian people." We won’t mention WorkChoices. Instead, let’s nominate the Northern Territory Intervention legislation as the most extreme example of the Howard government’s inclination to ram legislation through with the use of the Coalition’s Senate majority after the Prime Minister made that solemn promise."

Winter 2011: "The Intervention is yet another example of the appalling treatment the Aboriginal People of Australia have been subjected to in such a short period of time compared to thousands of years of survival. Sinem Saban and Rev. Dr Gondarra supported by the Yolngu people and cinematographer, Damien Curtis, have created a sensitive and realistic view of the plight of those who wish to live a more traditional life in their homelands and of those who appear to be dispossessed." Christine Waterer

Summer 2010: "Local resident and journalist, Jeff McMullen introduced "Our Generation", the film by Sinem Saban and Damien Curtis which we were there to see. The film explored in depth the Federal Government Intervention into Aboriginal Communities in the Northern Territory. Jeff had told us that the film’s producers were not having any success in having the film shown on government or commercial media outlets and they were having to screen it in local community halls to show the community at large just what was involved in the Intervention. It is basically a war on Aboriginal culture. The dispossession of the Aboriginal people is simply continuing in a new guise." Carol Gerrard

“Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples”

"Many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples were involved in campaigning for, and drafting, the Declaration " Commissioner Gooda said.

This is “ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT” !!

There is a lot of “Condemnation” and “Ridicule” of these so called, “Government Appointees” by the “Aboriginal Victim Industry” ( AVI ) when it “Suits” them.
This does not seem to be the case with Mick Gooda or his predecessor Tom Calma.( !? )
It was Showcased, Floated, Displayed, Lobbied for and "In Essence", "Flogged" !! This "Declaration". Mainly to the “Converted” or, fellow AVI.
The drafts of the “Declaration” would have been done by a lot of African, South American and Asian Delegates. People that come from some Well Documented, Terrible Living Conditions. To a large extent,"These" are the People that the "Declaration" and Principles would have been Conceived, Agreed to and Produced for. "Not" with "Us" in mind. So it would Hardly be Likely that we could have made or had "Any Influence Whatsoever" !! This so called “Campaining" for and "Drafting” of was no more than PR Exercise !! There would have been "Nothing" that “Needed “ to be "Changed". Or "Altered" !!.They would have had everything covered !! Experts !! They had years to do it !! And with at least, some of the Best Brains "Out of Africa" !! The African Countries have never taken us seriously. All the years that we have been going over to the UN complaining, “Not One” has ever backed or supported us. Or seen to be. And it is not likely to change. These people going over there complaining of Income Management, "Many hundreds of Millions" of people from these African Countries, and Others, don't even know what an Income is !! With “Ten Billion Dollars” a year “Allocated to Aboriginal Affairs”. That's more than the GNP of Most of these Countries !! These other “Delegates” or their Advisors, they would be aware of this !! Five Hundred dollars ( $500 ) a fortnight minimum here, to every Black-fella in Australia !!

This "New Set of Rules", this "Declaration",

the “Aboriginal Elite” or, "Neo- Mission Managers”, are seeking to Force and to Impose it upon, not only us "Other Black-fellas", but the “Whole Country” !!

The "Aboriginal Elite" are seeking to “Hijack” the Aboriginal Agenda.
