In July 2012 the Country Liberals won the NT elections on the
back of a huge swing by Aboriginal voters in remote communities.
Country Liberal candidates capitalised on anger with the
disempowerment that resulted from the NT Intervention and local
government ‘reforms’. However, since taking office the CLP have
implemented draconian policies that will criminalise alcoholism
and they have also pushed for adoption of "neglected" Indigenous
children. ... "

Protest Action at Paltar HQ
"5 Amazing Traditional Owners from Arnhem Land are coming
to Sydney to raise awareness and garner support on their
mission to stop Paltar Petroleum from drilling in their sea country,
just off the coast of the Northern Territory. We’re lucky to have
them at speak at the Kimberley celebration on the 18th, and
then on the Friday afterwards, we’ll be gathering outside Paltar
HQ in Martin Place sending the message that the Wilderness
Society supports the TOs, rejects Paltar’s attempts to drill
offshore and get media attention on the issue."

Northern Sydney region. The festival usually starts on Sorry

overwhelmingly positive, the Northern Territory Intervention
(the so-called Emergency Response) has created much
controversy especially since it has been extended for
another 10 years."
