On April 24, 2013, 1,129 garment workers died in the collapse of the Rana Plaza complex in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This anniversary will be marked by the inaugural Fashion Revolution Day. Fashion Revolution Day is about starting a conversation about the fashion industry, in particular the role of fast fashion and the unfair and unsafe working conditions these clothes are made in.

Local Perth women Alysha Harkins and Gilliane Burford have launched a major campaign so you can wear your “Made in Bangladesh” clothes with pride.

As founders of new non-profit, MADEgram, the two have joined the crowdfunding revolution to raise the funds to develop an app to bring about lasting change in the Bangladesh garment industry.
