Public meeting: Women For Justice invite you to Join us to remember the suffering of Tamil women in Sri Lanka. In July 1983, racially motivated ethnic cleansing killed more than 3,000 innocent Tamil civilians. This year alone, the UN reported that over 20,000 innocent civilians were killed by Sri Lankan Government forces in less than the span of a week during May. Many of them were women. Today 300,000 innocent civilians who fled conflict areas in Sri Lanka are being forcibly detained in military controlled internment camps behind barbed wire. The most vulnerable are women with several cases of rape, torture and abductions reported by independent media. An art exhibition will take you through the agony of internment. Inspiring women will also share their experiences and discuss ideas on how we can help the women at risk.

Venue: Balmain Town Hall Ground Floor, 370 Darling Street, Balmain Contribution: gold coin donation and your time.
Dinner will be served so please RSVP to be able to attend.
