Public Forum: PROTEST ON TRIAL
In one of the largest political arrests in decades 19 pro-Palestine protesters were arrested last July for their participation in a demonstration against Israeli owned company Max Brenner. These 19 will be on trial for three weeks from May 1st in the Melbourne magistrates court.
They are fighting charges of 'trespass in a public place', 'besetting' and 'riotous behaviour'. This trial is a political witch hunt by the state Baillieu government and the Victorian police against both civil disobedient demonstrations and those who stand up for Palestine.
