The partners of the International Renewable Energy Alliance (REN Alliance) are inviting to their side event at the UN Climate Change Conference, COP 18 in Doha titled "Towards 100% Renewables: Case Studies and Examples from Regions and Municipalities".
The side event will take place as follows:

What role will communities have on the road towards a 100% renewable energy supply?
The REN Alliance will introduce the theme of a 100% renewable energy future and case studies that demonstrate how municipalities and communities are playing a key role in attaining this vision. A panel of representatives from each REN Alliance partner organization will present real-word examples of how integration of variable renewable energy resources is possible; the local policies, financial incentives and community engagement that made these projects feasible; and how they can provide guidance for other communities aiming to become 100% renewable energy communities.
The presentations will be followed by a round of questions from the audience and discussion with the panelists.
