In association with Sydney Writer's Festival, this month’s fastBREAK speakers compel us to nurture our ideas and take hold of those fleeting eureka moments.We explore the theme of ‘epic’ as it applies to inspring individuals who have mustered the courage to start something new.
Catherine Keenan: co-founder and executive director of the Sydney Story Factory, a not-for-profit creative writing centre for kids opening in Redfern in 2012. She was formerly a journalist at The Sydney Morning Herald, where she was an arts writer and literary editor.
Kate Middleton: author of Fire Season (Giramondo, 2009). From September 2011-September 2012 she is the inaugural Sydney City Poet.
Dr Avnesh Ratnanesan: an innovative entrepreneur, passionate about merging the world of screen and the digital era with his company Araya Pictures. He is also an award-winning filmmaker and actor with a global vision.
Kate Anderson: Project Coordinator of Handa Opera on Sydney producing, Harbour: La Traviata.
Joshua Capelin: currently managing new coworking space, Homework, Josh also produces branded content for Onitsuka Tiger AUS, while working on several new digital and product ventures involving travel, leisure, lifestyle, sports and adventure concepts. One of these is Find the Wind, and it’s his first documentary series.
