After a hiatus we're proud to return with our fifth BZE Film Night! Whether you're a fuel and renewable technology expert or a curious newcomer to the debate, this evening promises to be a fantastic opportunity to learn, discuss and be entertained.

DIRTY BUSINESS: "Clean Coal" and the Battle for Our Energy Future is a 90-minute documentary that investigates the true cost of our dependence on coal for electricity in the age of climate change. Politicians and corporate interests have mounted a formidable public relations campaign promoting "clean coal" as a solution to our energy/climate problem.

The film is the first major public media project to explain and demystify "clean coal" and to explore the extent to which increased energy efficiency and renewable energy sources such as wind and solar thermal power might make "clean coal" unnecessary and uneconomical.

We'll be kicking off as close to 6.00pm as possible, but feel free to come along before and settle. We'll be around from 5:45pm to welcome you in, and afterward there will be time for discussion.

A donation is always appreciated and we suggest $5, if you can, to cover our costs. Everyone is welcome regardless of their ability to pay.

At the end of the night we will open the floor to discussion. Lead by a member of the BZE team, we can discuss some of the issues raised in the film. Last time we had some lively post-film exchanges and hopefully there will be more of the same again. As always there will be tea, snacks and a top quality visuals & audio.
