Invitation to Rio+20 Canberra action first organising meeting on Saturday March 17th
To climate activists:
In a breakout at the recent Victorian Climate Action Convergence (and subsequently endorsed by the final assembly) a group of activists discussed a grassroots mobilisation organised loosely around the Rio+20 meeting on June 20th.
We proposed an action in Canberra on Tuesday June 19th, a non-violent mass mobilisation, encircling parliament house with the message: get the job done/bring down pollution, followed by a swarm of smaller actions by affinity groups in and around parliament.
YOU are invited to attend the first organising meeting:
WHEN: 1-4pm, Saturday March 17th
WHERE: Friends of the Earth Melbourne, 312 Smith St, Collingwood, Melbourne.
Please RSVP to Brett (FoE Melbourne Climate Justice Collective Convenor) at brett[AT]thesharehood.org or 0432 918 150 - skype and/or phone conference facilities should be available.
