ANTaR NSW is looking for a new Campaigns Manager – with a particular focus on developing more effective communication and engagement strategies.

ANTaR NSW Campaigns Manager - Position Description

ANTaR NSW exists to support and help protect the human rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in NSW.
We offer a supportive environment and flexible work arrangements. The Campaigns Manager will be based in our office in Dulwich Hill, NSW. The role reports to the ANTaR NSW Management Committee.

Position Status:

Fixed-term 1 year contract
2 days per week ($28.38 per hour and you will be expected to work 30.4 hours per fortnight). This equals to $22,429.18 per annum plus super and leave loading
Purpose:

To devise and manage campaigns, undertake consultations and represent ANTaR NSW.

Duties:

Management

Support and implement decisions of the NSW Management Committee
Supervise support staff and administrative functions of ANTaR NSW office
Work collaboratively on NSW issues with the NSW ANTaR committee, volunteers and National Office staff
Actively seek grant opportunities and develop funding applications
Community Liaison

Build and strengthen networks and relationships with communities, members, stakeholders and other organisations and professionals to advance the vision and objectives of ANTaR NSW
Implement strategies to maintain and expand NSW ANTaR membership, profile and fundraising
Develop our processes for consultations with Aboriginal people
Help NSW ANTaR serve as a conduit for Aboriginal voices
Campaigning

With the NSW management committee, research, develop and promote campaigns agreed in an annual plan
Establish and maintain ANTaR NSW's online and offline resources and tools for campaigns and to inform and empower members and supporters
Develop materials for the NSW ANTaR webpage, media releases, e-bulletin and newsletter
Establish NSW ANTaR’s social media dialogue
Develop displays, stalls and information distribution about ANTaR’s work
Other duties as reasonably required by NSW ANTaR Secretary and President.
Selection criteria:

Essential

1. Ability to develop campaign strategies and materials and manage campaign projects.
2. Capacity to develop and maintain relationships with management committee and stakeholders and represent NSW ANTaR.
3. Ability to recruit and mobilise members of the public for social change including through the use of social media.
4. A good understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
5. Excellent oral and written communications skills including writing content for press releases, e-bulletins, website and social media.
6. Familiarity with fundraising, grant applications and strategies to support the sustained growth and development of NSW ANTaR.

Desirable

7. The ability to communicate cross-culturally and enhance our consultations with Aboriginal people.
8. Ability to work effectively in a team, capacity to work autonomously and proactively.
9. Experience in Website maintenance.
