This is a short notice meeting to discuss orgainsing th Occupy Melbourne rally, happening on the 15th of October at Federation Square. We need to organize who will be going, in what capacity, and what can be done to promote this, i.e. flyer runs, social media saturation etc. Anyone with video equipment, access to free printing or anything else that we can use is urged to come along.

I feel so empowered with this movement

Unfortunatly I cannot make it to your meeting tonight.I live in Healesville and am the mother of 3 young children. I am so so excited about this cause and it is doing a huge amount of good having so many diverse people coming together for a common cause of truth and justice. I believe there is a great deal more good in people than the media would have us believe.
The question I is this.
WHILE IT IS ESSENTIAL AND BENEFICIAL TO PROTEST AND ACKNWOLDGE WHAT WE WNT CAHANGED, IS THERE SOME DIRECT ACTION THAT WE ARE ASKING FOR?
IS THERE SOMETHING THAT WE WANT AND THERE ARE PEACEFUL HONOURABLE CONSEQUENCES FOR?
Davis Icke talks of this. An example is the poll tax in the uk. Margaret Thatcher tried to introduced the same tax for every person. To protest this the corts were filles with thousands of people saying they cannot afford this. And it was taken away.
This is a specific demand and a consequence demonstrated.
Davis Icke' s book "The Lion Sleeps No More" talks about this, the lion being us the people and our strength is in our numbers and our common good.
I feel if there is a specific clear demand this can lead to all our common goals that we are wanting.
