Fest la frog just got more sustainable...
..because we're not using any ferries, barges or big old buses for punters or bands anymore.
In fact the entire festival has been moved to Brunswick.
what?!
It was a difficult decision to make. The main factors that stopped us from using French Island THIS year are..
- our excessively wet summer (think plague-like mosquito levels and muddy terrain),
- the challenging logistics of having a festival on an island & financial pressures (mainly ferry/barge stuff)
All existing ticket holders have been fully refunded. (if u haven't yet.. call us)
It is a bit sad but there are also a few upsides to the move... There'll instead be an awesome one-day party that'll be cheaper, easier to get to, still held at a beautiful location, and most of the bands are moving with us, including The Red Eyes, Rapskallion, Rosie Burgess Trio, Hugo (Rap News), Baron Samadhi, Love Lawrence Teskey, The Adventure Spirit and more!
Our keepin it local version of Fest la Frog will be held from 10.30am-10pm on Saturday the 9th of April, on the Village Green at CERES Environment Park in Brunswick East. There's plenty of room so bring all your friends!!!
We'll still be offering vego discounts, sustainability workshops, solar brewed & other eco bevwahs, sticking to the zero waste policies & encouraging locals to come by pushies or public transport. All those who purchased a ticket to the original Fest la Frog will receive a free beer token on entry - just tell rego desk who you are!
Melbourne people: For Northsiders it'll be keepin' it local... & it'll be a naughty north foray for south siders.... all of us creating even less CO2 to do it.
Phillip Islanders and those from Corinella: we are truly sorry to not be able to do the festival at French Island this year.. Come to the city.. Visit a city livin' mate or try Couch Surfing mebbe?
CERES Fest la Frog party details
When: Saturday 9 April 2011
Time: 10.30am-10.00pm.
Where: The Village Green, CERES Environment Park, 8 Lee Street, Brunswick East. Tram 96 towards East Brunsick, get off at Stop 27-Blyth St/Nicholson St, Brunswick East (it's the last stop)
What: One-day version of Fest la Frog with headliners The Red Eyes along with 14 other bands and DJs from original line-up (announced over next few days)
How much: FREE entry before midday
$20 per person midday onwards
$15 concession
($2 vegetarian discount.)
This is a family friendly event and kids 12 and under are free all day!
