An event to honour the memory of Allan Whittaker (with retired judge Frank Vincent and ACTU secretary Ged Kearney) will be held at 11am, near the spot where he was shot at Beacon Cove, halfway between Princes and Station Pier. Allan Whittaker was shot by police during the 1928 waterfront strike, and died of his wound three months later.
