Film Screening and Q&A with Director
Maryella Hatfield is a lecturer in the School of Communication Arts at
the University of Western Sydney. Her documentary "The Future Makers"
tells the story of key Australians leading the way on the world stage
in renewable energy, particularly solar thermal projects.
It also focuses on cutting edge photovoltaics research in Australia,
with reference to Zhengrong Shi's massive SunTech PV business in China
and his continuing connections with UNSW researchers. The documentary
was funded by The NSW Film and Television Office and the Discovery
Channel.
This month's discussion group will begin with a full screening of "The
Future Makers" (~50min). Producer & director, Maryella Hatfield, will
join us via Skype to answer questions afterwards.
