Rather than giving us the government we deserve, the August 21 federal election delivered an outcome the two old parties deserved.

Close to one in five voters showed their opposition to Labor and Liberal by voting for alternatives in an election described by many as representing the seismic shift in the Australian electoral landscape.
... The resulting quake leaves us with a hung parliament and the Greens holding the balance of power in the Senate.
