BoardConnect is delighted to invite arts and non-profit organisations in Darwin to join David Fishel for a Board Development Workshop on Thursday 4 December.
This Workshop has been timed to coincide with the launch of the third edition of The Book of the Board. Written by David Fishel, this publication has become Australia's standard reference book for board and committee members of non-profit organisations. It provides clear guidance on the ways in which the board can maximise its effectiveness for the organisation. All participants will receive a copy of the book (RRP$59.95) when registering for the event.
Hosted by Arts NT, this practical and interactive full-day workshop will help board members of arts and non-profit organisations understand their roles and to maximise the board’s contribution to the organisation.
Participants will:
- Clarify the role of the board/ committee
- Have the opportunity to raise issues and questions of particular concern to you and your organisation
- Understand the legal and financial responsibilities of non-profit boards
- Discuss the role of the board in strategic planning and fundraising
- Discover effective ways for the board and staff or key volunteers to work together
- Discuss how to make board/ committee meetings as productive as possible
- Consider best practice in recruitment and induction of board members
The material for this tried and tested workshop was written by BoardConnect Director David Fishel, and has been delivered throughout Australia to over 500 board members, CEOs and senior staff of arts and non-profit organisations.
CEOs, general managers and senior executives are encouraged to attend with at least one board member from their organisation.
As part of the registration fee, participants will receive a copy of the recently published The Book of the Board 3rd edition, written by David Fishel, valued at $59.95.
