Create a community hub in South Melbourne

You are invited to a BBQ and working bee at the South Melbourne Commons.
In 2010, Friends of the Earth are very excited to announce the development
of the first Eco Market style operation in South Melbourne. The 'South
Melbourne Commons' will become a new community hub that reconnects people
back to a sense of place and belonging. The site will feature, a community
kitchen, food & grocery cooperative, Children’s playgroups, food gardens
with a weekly Saturday Eco Market operation starting later in the year.
Weekly workshops and community activities will be a common occurrence. For

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP to get it started, so we're hosting a yummy BBQ &
working bee so you can get involved and make a difference. There are lots
of tasks for skilled & unskilled people. - photograph, cook lunch, help
with promotions, Help by cleaning, sanding and paining, help build garden
beds & plant out. Come for a few hours or stay the whole day.

- Any new volunteers can have a tour of the site - Veg BBQ lunch provided
and beer at the end of the day. - Make new friends & have a bit of fun. -
