Police investigating police rally 26 APRIL 2013 and Greg Smith

beyond time to polish up the eyeballs once more and to allow our members and supporters to catch up with what isja has planned to once again highlight the futility of police investigating other police and the absolute need to call for and end to police brutality and corruption.
 
the attached rally notice (without image) informs of a rally planned for 4.30pm friday 26th april, 2013 to protest once more at the total abuse of real justice by the governments of australia allowing the criminal actions perpetrated by the police when they allegedly investigate other police guilty of a death in custody event, an assault or some other example of police brutality and/or police corruption and lies.
 
on that friday we will once more gather outside of the kings cross police station to voice our collective disapproval of the inability of the police involved in the kings cross police shooting of four unarmed youth in an attempt to stop the car driving off. many shots were fired, in a real haphazard manner, into the car. there was no apparent concern from those police using their glocks against the defenceless four aboriginal youth in the car. yes, the car was stolen. yes, the youth were affected by alcohol and drugs but none of those circumstances are punishable by death.
 
in the usa such wild and reckless use of armed force by police is an indictable offence against the police officers involved. the same law must be introduced by the barry o'farrell government of nsw to show some concern for the quite possible loss of life in other such events. we strongly urge our nsw attorney-general to work on legislating such a law.
 
since 1 january, 1980, police nationally have been responsible for the deaths of over 200+ aboriginal and torres strait islanders up to the present day. that death in custody total could easily have been increased by another 4 deaths. to the utter relief of the public, none were killed but the driver and front seat passenger were both wounded and bleeding heavily. did our thuggish police force call for an ambulance? well, not straight away as they had other police business to attend to.
 
both youth in the front seats of the car were dragged forcefully out of their seats, and though obviously in a state of shock caused by their wounds, they were roughly thrown to the ground whilst several officers proceeded to punch and kick the wounded youths. such brutal and criminal behaivour was documented on peoples mobiles whilst the officers concerned in the assaults continued their actions without any care whatsoever.
 
public anger was forthcoming as isja held rallies outside parliament house and the kings cross police station calling on the offending officers to be charged.
 
that shooting frenzy by the kings cross police happened about 12 months ago, so what has happened since then? fellow police from another police station, allegedly independent, 'investigated' what had happened on that sunday morning. that investigation report was not made public but it did find its way to the dpp known as the dept. of public prosecutions. also well known to be a 'police friend' as are some of the judiciary. one example of how friendly that can be? twice the qld dpp attempted to find no-case to answer for now-inspector chris hurley and his killing of mulrunji doomadgee on palm island in 2004.
 
the nsw dpp found no-case to answer for the kings cross police. no surprises there! but whilst that may be sufficient for the nsw government, the police and their union and not forgetting the dpp, what about the victims involved, their families and the public? do we not have a right to know the details of the investigating police report, corrupt as it most certainly would be, and the legal reasons why those police involved in thuggery cannot be prosecuted. we have witness evidence of the police actions. we have photographic evidence of the police punching and kicking the wounded youth. the kings cross police acted with unnecessary force, including the multiple use of their glocks, against the wounded youth especially. what physical violence was used against the other two non-wounded youth? were they bashed and kicked by other police also? we don't know but we do know that it is our public right to know the full details of what eventuated during the events of that morning! 
 
we and our supporters call on the nsw police minister, mike gallacher, to make public all reports, documents, files, police notebooks and any other documentation relative to the events some 12 months ago at kings cross to allow the families and the general public to view them. mike gallacher has recently consented to a full and open enquiry to the police violence at the recent mardi gras so we expect that same open frame of mind for the events surrounding the kings cross police.
 
we also call on the nsw attorney-general, greg smith, to order the nsw dpp to publically release the full legal reasonings behind their decision not to prosecute.

after initially refusing to meet with ms gail hickey, mother of 17 year old tj hickey, to seek redress of the corrupt police investigation against the redfern police followed by an equally corrupt inquest that exonerated the redfern police in the death of tj, nsw attorney-general, greg smith, has now found a 20 minute window to meet with her and isja to answer our concerns. we look forward to the meeting.
 
equally surprising was the offer of another 20 minute window for the bowraville 3 families to also meet with him to allow discussion on their issues of the homicide of their three children some 20 years ago.
 
will all four families finally get a taste of justice? that is up to greg smith and the o'farrell government making the honest  and brave decision to allow justice to finally be done.
 
we can all wish, hope, pray for a just decision to be made.
