Launch of a National campaign to establish a new People's Bank

It is time the financial juggernaut was derailed by a mass campaign to establish a new People's bank whose ownership (unlike the old Commonwealth bank which was sold by the Hawke-Keating Labor governments) is incorporated in the Australian constitution, so only the people will have the power to sell the new People's bank.
At the beginning of the 21st century a brake needs to be put on a financial sector that does whatever it likes, whenever it wants to.

I decided to take one of your leaflets and have a read instead of just walking by today.
It seems your interests are noble however your approach is unlikely to work. After reading your leaflet i was left with a feeling of .... well this is just impossible. If you are campaigning against corruption you need to be specific about the type of corruption. No party will organise an enquiry into corruption per se as the terms of reference are just too wide, it doesn't matter how may signatures you collect, where will the enquiry start? what will they focus on? Corruption occurs across all aspects of life from individuals to business, minor to large. Narrow the terms of reference. For example, if you want to identify corruption more easily campaign for the Freedom of Information Act to be changed so that the government body cannot exclude/supress information to the extent that occurs today. This in itself would would have a great impact. When there is transparency the chance of corruption is hugely diminished.
In terms of setting up a new "Peoples Bank", governments in a capitalist society are not in the business of managing peoples money or making sure they get a fair deal. They are there to get re-elected and that means keeping the books in balance. No government in a capitalist society would committ the billions of dolars in funds to do this, it would be political suicide. I am sorry, this one isn't going to happen
