Working women have been fighting for equal pay in Australia for over a century. Hear pioneers share insights from earlier battles and strategise how to build a movement to win real pay justice!

— Panellists —

Marxist and feminist Lynn Beaton was a staffer at the Working Women’s Centre in the 70s. She is a working class historian who has written on many topics, including women’s pay rates during World War II.

Eileen Capocchi is a passionate advocate for women’s rights who campaigned for equal pay and equal opportunity for women in the 50s, 60s and 70s. She still campaigns and lobbies for women’s rights today.

Katerina Check is an activist with the grassroots campaigning group, Pay Justice Action (PJA). She is also a workplace delegate with the Community and Public Sector Union. Kat will launch the new PJA equal pay petition.

Plus film footage of insights from Zelda D’Aprano, working-class crusader prepared to act when endless calls from union leaders to be patient failed to deliver.

Chaired by Alison Thorne veteran campaigner against workplace discrimination, CPSU workplace delegate and Freedom Socialist Party Organiser.
