Sex, Lies & Uranium - a Hiroshima Day Event

'I shall write peace upon your wings, and you shall fly around the world so that children will no longer have to die this way.'Haiku attributed to Sadako Sasaki, a Japanese girl who was two years old when the atomic bomb was dropped on August 6, 1945, on Hiroshima. Sadako is remembered through the story of a thousand origami cranes before her death, and is to this day a symbol of innocent victims of war. She died in 1955, aged 12.

Byron loves Bradley: March 20th solidarity action

Sunday 20 March, 2011 was the global day of action in support of Bradley Manning, the young US armyman accused of leaking classified documents to Wikileaks. Despite the rain, Byron shire supporters of Bradley Manning sprouted like mushrooms in the most unlikely of places, including the Byron markets, the streets, the beaches and at shopping centres.
