There's a hidden secular history of Australia - of the religious influence of politics, of conflicts over whether libraries can open on Sundays, of women's equality and reproductive freedoms, of "State Aid" for Non-Government Schools and the "Defence of Government Schools" and the Democratic Labour Party. This one-day review looks at this history, along with the details of Humanism. Humanism has a substantial philosophy and history in human thought. We also look at global religious injustice, evolution and creationism, and elements of the Judaeo-Christian tradition.

This religious review takes a look at the historical background on the Hebrew Bible and Christianity - where we see the influences of other traditions, the historicity of Jesus and other ideas in Christianity, including the legacy of Epicurus and the influence of the so called "Pagan" Gods : Adonis, Osiris, Isis and Mithra.

It presented by John August, President, NSW Humanists. Cost : Members $30, Non-members $40
