Japanese for Peace are pleased to announce that our 9th annual peace concert will be held at Deakin Edge, Federation Square, from 3-5pm on Saturday 10th of August.

The concert will commemorate the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and raise awareness of the humanitarian consequences of nuclear weapons.

The concert features the spectacular Hiroshima Junior Marimba Ensemble, coming all the way from Japan to play for the Melbourne audience. The performers range from 7 to 16 years old, and are extraordinarily talented. They have performed in USA, Russia, China, Vietnam, Taiwan and France. The Hiroshima Junior Marimba Ensemble is a joy to witness live.

During the two-hour concert, Tim Wright (International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons) will speak about the latest in the campaign for nuclear abolition and how we can build momentum for a global ban on nuclear weapons. Tim Costello (World Vision) will speak about the movement for global peace.
