This May the 4th come to the Melbourne Anarchist Club to celebtrate International Workers' Day!
Come along for live music and a special comedic theatre performance as part of the "End of the World News" series.
This event is a fundraiser for workers in Greece. We'll be talking about recent examples of workers control in Greece and the ongoing struggle against austerity measures.
This event was previously going to be a fundraiser for workers in Kilkis, Greece, who had occupied a hospital and were running it autonomously. Sadly, the occupation recently ended due to pressure from the Greek government. Instead, we'll putting money towards other workers's organisations in Greece that are currently resisting austerity measures.
Check out the synopsis of our theatre performance:
"Come long to a very special May Day edition of "End of the World News", sponsored by Australia's hardest workers: Gina Rinehart and the other wealth creating mining magnates who make our country great.
CEO of Extratum mining and media personality Twiggy Palmcock will host a special retrospective on the lives of our mining heroes, profiling their contributions tosociety. From poetry to failed soccer teams, from jobs for fly-in workers to extra carbon in the atmosphere to aid the development of tiny tiny babies (miners love babies), there is no field that these big hearted billionaires do not excel at. A theatrical night of infotainment for all the family (especially the tiny babies, we need them to fuel the generators)."
