Aboriginal speaker/author/illustrator wanted for elementary school project in USA

Hello, I am writing to you from the US. We are an elementary school looking
to sponsor a robust cultural program focused on Australian Aboriginal
heritage. Can we dialogue about resources and ways to engage to create a
memorable and focused program that highlights this little known (in US)
culture? I would deeply appreciate your help. When I was a child, we actually
did have a program in elementary school that taught us about
Australia/Aboriginal culture...we learned songs...Walking Mathilda is what I

Fight for our rights on 4 March

Our rights at work are again under attack from the Abbott Government and employers.

Just last month, it became even clearer that the full-scale Productivity Commission inquiry into our rights at work could deliver cuts to penalty rates, the abolition of the minimum wage, bring back unfair individual contracts and swing even more power to the employers.

The time to stand up and fight back is now.

I received a call from an undisclosed friend over the weekend telling me I would no longer be writing for the National Indigenous Times after this week. Like all blackfellas in this country we all have mob in opposing camps.

Farewell noble friends at The National Indigenous Times

Gerry Georgatos - courtesy of The National Indigenous Times - Sadly, I fear this is the last time I will be writing for The National Indigenous Times. This newspaper goes out of business, bundled out by litigation but as the noblest voice for First Peoples in the nation. We did not fade but were persecuted by malice because we chased down transgressors and transgressions in ways other media feared.

It Is The War On Drugs Which Deserves The Death Penalty

It is thoroughly sickening to behold the tragedy unfolding before us in Indonesia. Our entire nation is standing around befuddled, letting another nation commit atrocities against our citizens. And not just our citizens, but dozens of individuals from all around the world who have been caught by violent, murderous extremists in various banana republics and quasi-democratic totalitarian regimes.

If this is what we can do in a month...

2015 is off to a cracking start! Over the past month, GetUp members won a Supreme Court injunction, got in the ears of MPs and Senators Australia-wide, joined forces with some big names, and made a bunch of headlines!

And just think, it's only February...

Litigation now the new censorship in reporting the news in the 21st century - National Indigenous Times

By National Indigenous Times columnist, Dr Woolombi Waters - I wish the first article of the year brought happier news but as I am sure most readers will have heard we are now publishing issue by issue without knowing who will own the National Indigenous Times for another few weeks. The lesson learnt is that modern news is no longer about truth but instead its about retaining social capital to the elite in ensuring the rhetoric of neoliberalism right wing conservative politics is retained at all cost.
