SOUTHERN NSW SPORT DEVELOPMENT FORUM 2015

The Office of Sport, Sport and Recreation, is conducting a Sport Development Forum on Saturday the 25th of July from 10am to 3pm at the lovely Borambola Sport and Recreation Centre, 27 kilometres east of Wagga Wagga.

This Forum consists of four sport development workshops as well as an expo of industry exhibitors and includes networking opportunities.

The workshop topics are:

  • Children protection strategies and the new Working With Children Check
  • Social Media and Sports
  • Modern Sporting Club Management
  • Grant Writing

Workshop presenters include

  • Office of the Children’s Guardian
  • Revolutionise Sport
  • Regional Grants, Tenders and Corporate Services

The Forum is in response to the identified need for more training and advice on corporate governance practices and procedures for sporting organisations.

The Forum is for committee members, administrators, coaches, development officers, Council sport and recreation staff, sport providers, officials, industry providers, government and non government agencies and volunteers working in sport and recreation.

“Everyone involved in organising sport will benefit from this Forum,” said Mr Eric Brooks, Regional Manager, Sport & Recreation’s Southern Region.

“I encourage everyone to take this opportunity to see the latest industry products and to obtain the latest information from our expert guest presenters. This will assist them in updating and streamlining governance practices and operational procedures as well as increasing the organisations effectiveness and saving valuable time, We also encourage everyone in the sports industry to consider supporting the event or to become an exhibitor and showcase their products and services on the day” Mr Brooks said.

Booking numbers are limited, so interested people should register as soon as possible.

For more information regarding becoming a supporter and/or exhibitor or to enrol as a participant, phone the Sport and Recreation Head Office on 131302 or visit the website www.dsr.nsw.gov.au/sdf.
