Date and Time:
Monday, March 21, 2011 -
4:30pm to 6:00pm
Location:
Bennett Park, cnr of Mitchell and Bennett, Darwin City

As the shocking devastation of the recent disasters in Japan continue to unfold, The Environment Centre NT expresses its sincere sympathy to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Our thoughts are also with those who have been evacuated from their homes, workers put at risk and those exposed to radiation due to the escalating crisis at the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
...
A series of vigils have been organised nationwide to come together and express sympathy and show support for those who have been affected in Japan and abroad, for those who have lost family and friends.

On Monday 21st of March, we are gathering to send two messages, firstly one to send thoughts to the people of Japan who are suffering beyond belief, and secondly to the politicians of Australia to urge them to reconsider the role Australia plays in Uranium exports to power stations- the cause of the additional crisis in Japan.

We invite all community groups and the public to join us in paying our respect and to honour the victims of this tragedy. Please forward this to friends, family, groups and networks you are involved with. Bring CANDLES if possible.
