2012 Animal Activists Forum
13 & 14 October, Sydney

We are pleased to invite all Australian activists to the 2012 Animal Activist Forum. This years event will be held in Sydney on the 13th & 14th of October. The venue this year will be The Portside Conference Centre, Kent Street, Sydney http://www.portsidecentre.com.au

This year's forum will have three rooms booked and will allow for three seminars to run concurrently throughout the weekend. Throughout the weekend attendees will have the choice to only attend the sessions of interest to themselves. The event will run from 8:30am until 5:30pm on both days. Prompt arrival at 8:30am is requested.

The event will begin on the Saturday with all groups in the country invited to summarise their work in the past year in the form of a quick 1 minute summary. This is a format developed at the International Animal Rights Gatherings and is a very good way to introduce groups to the all the assembled activists.

All groups of course have the opportunity to present in a more detailed format later in the weekend, either with a 15 minute presentation or a more detailed workshop, if you wish to book a presentation, please contact us.

Following the warm reception to previous international speakers, this year we intend to continue with Skype presentations, and we are in the process of confirming our international speakers. This year we are excited to have Shannon Keith, director of the films “Behind The Mask” and “Skin Trade” who will be discussing her films and the “Beagle Freedom Project”. We will announce further speakers on the website as they are confirmed.

Throughout the weekend we will host in depth workshops and presentations on specialist topics of interest to animal activists. Our provisional timetable includes:

·Organisation reviews
· Promoting veganism
· Intersectionality
· Preventing burn-out
· Photography
· Activsist legal training
· Working with rural communities
· And many more!

The forum will be catered with 100% vegan food and lunches, refreshments and break-time snacks are all included in the ticket price.

Unwaged: $70
Standard: $100
Solidarity: $200 (for those who wish to financially support the event).

In addition to the forum we will be organising additional social events throughout the weekend, that we hope you can all attend:
