Come confront the faceless puppeteers of the coal lobby and make the message loud and clear - YOU CAN"T CLEAN COAL!

Despite worsening predictions about the effects of climate change on
our planet, Peter Batchelor, the energy minister for the state Labor
government, continues to be in bed with the coal industry, supporting
the continued operation of Hazelwood Power Sation, one of the
world’s dirtiest coal power stations. At this upcoming coal conference
at which Batchelor is speaking let's let him know through our loud non-violent protest that we want real action on climate change.

Bring your outrage, enthusiasm and noisemakers! Dress up as a cleaner to make the point - "You can't clean coal"

More info on issue

The Brumby Government likes to talk about taking the lead on climate
change, but they are actively supporting the continuation of coal power
as Victoria’s major source of energy, and providing only very limited
support for renewable energy opportunities.
Labor is continuing to:
• Invest in the construction of new coal-fired power stations in the La Trobe Valley
• Lobbying to get the owners of coal power stations more
compensation from taxpayers money under the emissions trading
scheme
• Accepting thousands of dollars in donations from coal corporations
in return for private meetings in which coal expansion is discussed
(as it is at this upcoming coal conference).
• And, continues to invest in so called ‘clean coal’ research rather than directly investing in renewable energy production, which could meet Victoria’s baseload energy demands.
With dire predictions for our planet made daily, it is time for Victorians to stand up to the Victorian Labor bosses and the corporate coal lobby!!
