From SPAIN- Spanish Prime Minister Rajoy says that he will block any attempt to hold a referendum on Catalon independence. Citizens of the northern city of Burgos have stopped plans to revamp the city streets. Israel has summoned envoys from 4 EU nations to protest what it calls their pro-Palestinian stance. Oxfam released a major report on the growing situation of wealth inequality. The German Attorney General will open a criminal investigation into the US wiretapping of Angela Merkel.
From RUSSIA- An interview with Michael Coen of the National Whistleblower Center In DC, talking about President Obama's speech on reforming the program of NSA spying.
From GERMANY- President Obama addressed the spying of foreign governments on German television. Several reports on the ongoing anti-government protests and the repression of protestors in Ukraine. Several reports on the ongoing anti-government protests in Thailand. The President of South Sudan accused the UN of trying to create a parallel government in the state and protecting rebels. Several reports on the lead up to the conference on Syria being held in Switzerland.
From JAPAN- More leaks of radioactive water from the damaged reactors at Fukushima were discovered last weekend. Japanese Environment Ministry officials are trying to find municipalities willing to accept nuclear waste storage, but so far no areas are welcoming the offer.
