This week's show features stories from NHK World Radio Japan, Spanish National Radio, Radio Havana Cuba, Radio Deutsche-Welle, and the Voice of Russia.
From JAPAN- An intense heat wave has continued in Japan, where the highest temperature in the country ever recorded was reached on Monday. South Koreans rallied in Seoul to press the Japanese government for an official apology and compensation for former so-called "comfort women." 10 workers at the damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant were exposed to unsafe levels of radiation while waiting for a bus ride home.
From SPAIN- First a press review on the growing conflict between Spain and Britain over the ownership of Gibraltar. Then an update on the English threat of legal action against Spain while sending a warship to the area. Members of Libya's ethnic Berber minority forced their way into Parliament to press for greater recognition. As part of an attempted peace process, Israel released 26 Palestinian prisoners- the talks have been jeopardized by an Israeli announcement of the construction of 1200 new homes in Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank.
From CUBA- US Secretary of State Kerry visiting Brazil met opposition to the US imperialist history and the global scale of the US surveillance programs. After years of denial the CIA has admitted to having spied on Noam Chomsky. There have been between 9 and 12 drone strikes in Yemen over the past 2 weeks.
From GERMANY- Thousands of people rallied in Tunisia in support of womens rights. Doctors Without Borders is pulling out of Somalia due to extreme dangers faced by staff. A report from Thursday morning on the massacre in Egypt that took place on Wednesday.
From RUSSIA- A live interview with a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt on Thursday morning. Then a press story about the US goal of suppressing whistleblowers instead of correcting the problems of widespread surveillance.

I was interviewed for an informative weekly radio show Mediageek, available at http://radio.mediageek.net
All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
NEW TIME SLOT on KZYX! This program will be aired on Sunday afternoon at 4pm (PDST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via
I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)

"All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume."
